My coworker swore the 'Taco Truck Tuesdays' line was worth the 45 minute wait. He was so wrong.
Honestly, this guy at work, Mark, would not shut up about this one taco truck that parks over on 5th Street. He said their al pastor was life-changing and that even a 45 minute line moved fast. Ngl, I finally went last week, got there at 11:30, and the line was already wrapped around the block. I waited the whole time, my feet were killing me, and when I finally got my three tacos for $15, the meat was dry and the pineapple was basically warm mush. It wasn't awful, but it was just... fine. I felt like a total chump standing there that long for a totally average lunch. Has anyone else had a hype train food truck totally let them down? I need a new spot to try.

Ugh, the hype is the worst part. That feeling of betrayal when the line itself was the best thing about the meal. Happened to me with a "legendary" grilled cheese truck. The bread was somehow both soggy and burnt, and the cheese was just a sad, cold lump. You stand there with your overpriced disappointment, watching everyone else in line look so hopeful. It's a special kind of lunchtime sadness.

Oh man, that's brutal. They really got you with the "sad, cold lump" special. Nothing like paying to feel that lunchtime regret.

But what if the line's fun vibe is part of the meal you're paying for?
