The taco truck at my local farmer's market changed how I order now

I usually get the same thing everywhere - two al pastor tacos and call it a day. But last Saturday at the Greenwood Farmer's Market, the guy running the truck stopped me and said "try the tongue tacos, they're done right." I was nervous but I went for it. He charged me $3 extra and walked me through how they braise it for 6 hours. Now I always ask the cook what they're proud of before I order anywhere. Has anyone else had a vendor steer you to something totally unexpected?

Love that, trust the people making the food

I mean it's just tacos at a farmer's market, not exactly life changing stuff. Maybe he was just trying to upsell you on the pricier meat.

Hold up, let's not act like this guy is some culinary prophet just because he's grilling behind a pop-up tent. Plenty of food vendors out there are just trying to move product, not change your life with a tortilla. I've had some straight up mid tacos from a dude who rambled about his family's secret recipe for 10 minutes. Sometimes a good deal is a good deal and a pitch is just a pitch, no need to overthink it.
