Found a 1960s postcard in a library book and it led me to the writer's family

I picked up a copy of 'To Kill a Mockingbird' from the local library sale and a faded postcard from 1967 fell out, addressed to a woman named Eleanor. Honestly, I just searched her name and the old address on the card on a genealogy site on a whim, and found her grandson who still lives in the same town. Has anyone else had luck returning something like this, and what's the best way to reach out without being weird?

Sandraflores, that's the kind of advice that gets my letter returned in 47 years (addressed to a now-demolished taco shop).

Reminds me of the time I mailed my rent check to my old landlord's childhood home.
