Then I found a 1987 gas station receipt for 89 cents a gallon tucked in a copy of The Great Gatsby and suddenly I got why someone kept it - what's the oldest bookmark you've pulled out of a secondhand book?

Found a 1993 Blockbuster receipt in a romance novel - someone really didn't want to pay that late fee.

Put it in a ziplock bag with a damp paper towel, let it sit for a day. Should peel right off without wrecking the cover art.
