Ceramic filters ruined our cast quality at the shop
We had way fewer flaws with the old sand method.

Sounds like someone sold you a solution for a problem you didn't have. Classic case of the new expensive thing being way worse than the simple old way that just worked. Bet the guy who sold you those filters gave a great presentation too. Should have just stuck with the sand, obviously.

That "great presentation" clearly didn't cover the part where your castings look like Swiss cheese, so great job there.
