Can we talk about paying for a virtual assistant service?

I dropped about $500 a month for one, and it saved me from drowning in admin work so I could actually focus on client projects. Anyone have a cheaper alternative that actually works?

Isn't the real question what your time is worth? That $500 sounds like a lot, but if it bought back hours for client work, maybe it was a good deal. Trying to go too cheap might just get you more headaches.

Totally used to chase the cheapest option for everything. This kind of thinking is what finally flipped a switch for me. Paying more upfront for a real fix often saves so much time and stress later. That saved time is what you can actually bill for, so the math works out way better.

Hold on, I gotta push back a little on this. I totally get that $500 might feel like a steal for some people, but I think there's a huge trap in assuming you can't get the same results for way less. I tried a fancy service once and it was mostly just a lot of hand-holding and fancy reports, but the actual work got done just as fast with a freelancer I found for $150 a month. The key is you have to be really specific about what you need them to do and set clear rules from day one. If you just hand over a mess of tasks and expect magic, you're going to get burned no matter what you pay. So yeah, don't let people scare you into thinking you have to pay premium just to get basic admin help.
