I finally had a client ghost me after delivering a finished website

I was working with a small brewery in Austin, and they just stopped replying after I sent the final files. I waited two weeks, then sent an invoice with a late fee. They paid up the next day, but it was a stressful $2,500 to have hanging out there. What's your go-to move when a client disappears on a big payment?

Did you have a contract that spelled out the late fee, or did you just add it on?

Honestly, who needs a contract for every little thing? If someone pays you weeks late, they've messed up your cash flow and wasted your time. Adding a fair late fee is just common sense to make up for that hassle. It's like when a friend borrows your tools and returns them rusty, you'd expect them to pay for a new one. Waiting on money you're owed costs you real opportunities.

Exactly! It's basic respect, @richard226.
