I thought I could handle a big client's rush job alone

Last month, a regular client in Denver asked me to turn around a full website audit in three days, which I agreed to. Halfway through, my laptop charger died, and the replacement took a full day to arrive, putting me way behind. I had to call a fellow freelancer I know from a local meetup and pay her $200 to take on the content review part so I could focus on the technical side. We got it done with two hours to spare, but my profit was basically gone. I used to think asking for help was a sign I couldn't handle my business. Has anyone else had a piece of gear fail at the worst possible time and how did you fix it?

Always keep a backup charger in your bag now, it's saved me twice!

My old Anker power bank has saved my phone more times than I can count.

Oh man, tell me about it. I've had the same Anker brick for like five years and it's a total tank. That thing has gotten me through so many dead phone emergencies at airports and long bus rides. I don't even leave the house without it anymore. It's probably the best twenty bucks I ever spent.
