Spent $400 on a fancy ergonomic chair after my back started hurting from the kitchen table setup, and it broke after two months when the armrest just fell off.

Has anyone else had a piece of 'essential' gear completely fail on them right after the warranty period?

Oh man, that's the worst feeling. I bought one of those expensive standing desk converters, the kind with the little hand crank. Worked great for about three months, then the gear inside just stripped out completely. Now it's stuck at the worst possible height, like a sad monument to bad design. It's just a very heavy paperweight. The company offered me a 15% discount on a new one, which felt like a slap in the face.

My Jarvis desk did the same thing. I called them up and they sent a whole new motor assembly for free, took like 10 minutes to swap out.

A 15% discount is better than nothing, right?
