Update: I still think about this one thing a guy said to me at a co-working space in 2017

He was packing up his laptop after his startup folded and said, 'The only real asset you have is the list of people who answer your emails,' which felt harsh at the time but now, after 3 slow months, I get it.

I read a blog post last year where a founder said her email list was the only thing that saved her business during a downturn. She could still reach real people when ads stopped working. That guy's advice is brutal but it checks out. Your network is basically your safety net when everything else falls apart. Building it feels slow but it's the one thing no one can take from you. Those slow months prove how much you need those real connections.

Damn, that hits hard right now. How are you holding up after those slow months?

Honestly, I started using the quiet time to learn a new skill online.
