It clicked for me why humidity ruins a finish when my cabinet got cloudy overnight

That "cloudy overnight" part is what gets me. Was it just super muggy that night, or did the temperature drop really fast too? I'm trying to figure out if the cloudiness is moisture trapped under the finish or if it actually messed with the cure. What kind of finish were you using, and was it maybe still a bit soft when the humidity hit? Some finishes just suck up moisture from the air while they're drying and go all milky on you.

Totally, @cole994, that cloudiness happens when the finish isn't fully cured and humidity hits it. If it was still a bit soft, moisture just gets sucked right in and turns it milky. Seen it way too many times on late season jobs lol.

Had the same issue once. Moved the piece to a drier area and let it cure all the way. A light buff after that cleared it RIGHT up.
