My pizza cutter varnish experiment
I thought using a pizza cutter to strip varnish from a chair would be clever. Now it has slice marks and a faint cheese odor. What odd items have you tried in a pinch?

Oh man, that takes me back to when I tried to use a butter knife as a screwdriver. Let's just say the screw head is now a smooth, shiny crater and the knife tip is permanently bent. I think I actually made the problem ten times worse. What's your worst 'this should work' tool substitution story?

I once believed pliers were a fine substitute for a wrench on a stubborn nut. The rounded-off corners and stripped threads taught me a hard lesson about proper tools. Some mistakes just leave permanent marks, or in your case, a cheesy smell.

My kitchen drawer is full of these almost-right tools that created new problems. I swear half of home maintenance is just fixing the fixes we tried with whatever was nearby. It's like we're all just one butter knife away from total chaos.
