TIL humidity can turn your clear coat into a frosty mess overnight

Yeah that cloudy finish is the worst, humidity messes with the drying process. Had it happen on a guitar body I was spraying in my garage. What saved it was some very light wet sanding once the coat fully cured, like a week later. Used 2000 grit paper with soapy water, just enough to knock down the frosty texture. Followed up with a good polish compound and it came back clear. Takes patience but it’s usually fixable.

Doesn't it always seem to happen when you're nearly done? I had a tabletop go all foggy after a clear coat because I didn't check the forecast. Just sat there looking like a ghost of what it should be. Your fix is basically the same thing I did, minus the guitar. It's a special kind of frustration, but at least there's a way out.
