Vent: My digital kitchen scale made baking a nightmare
I got this digital kitchen scale thinking it would make baking easier, but it just added stress. The display is too small, and it keeps turning off mid-measure. Last week, I was making cookies, and the scale reset when I added flour. I had to start over three times. It's supposed to be precise, but the buttons are so sensitive that a slight touch changes the unit. I ended up going back to my old measuring cups. Why do gadgets have to be so complicated when simple tools work better? Has anyone dealt with similar gadget fails?

Yeah, the "keeps turning off mid-measure" thing is a known problem with a lot of budget scales to save battery.

Oh wow, I always just got mad at mine for being broken. But @nathan492 explaining the battery thing actually makes sense now. Might stop slamming the tare button so hard, haha.

Why do scales act more dramatic than a soap opera when you're trying to bake, lol?
