The creek behind my place is cutting deeper into the shale.
I swear it's eroded a foot in the last few months. Is this normal for spring runoff?

Heard our wet winter messed with groundwater tables... might be why it's cutting so fast now.

Check if any new beaver activity is upstream. They can really speed up erosion when the ground is already soft from high water. Saw a creek get rerouted in a month because of a single busy colony.

Here in Utah, our shale creek cut a foot last spring just from rain, not groundwater.
