My glass cracks during annealing because I rushed the cooling. Slowing it down made all the difference.

So you figured out the cooling speed, huh? Rushing it always seems to backfire. Glad slowing it down worked for you.

Rushing just creates different problems down the line, like cracks or a weird texture. Taking it slow lets everything settle evenly, which is the whole point of the process. It's frustrating because you want to move fast, but patience actually saves time in the end. I've ruined so many batches by being impatient that now I just set a timer and walk away. The difference in the final result is totally worth the extra wait.

Yeah it's one of those things you have to mess up a few times to really get. I used to wrap my stuff in towels trying to speed it up and it just made a huge mess. Now I just leave it on the counter overnight no matter how tempted I am to check. The middle always sets way better when the outside cools at a normal pace.
