TIL a tough call with a landlord over a leaky heater

Found a small carbon monoxide leak in a rental property's furnace. The owner asked me to just seal it up quick and cheap. I had to say no and explain why a full fix was the only right way to go.

I saw a DIY forum post where someone sealed their attic vent and got mold all over the rafters. The moisture had nowhere to go, so it built up inside. They ended up paying thousands to fix the damage. Sometimes ventilation is more important than just closing things up.
