It hit me how waiting for compost to mature changes everything

I used to skip proper composting to save time on jobs. After seeing how rich soil let plants thrive in a project I revisited, I won't cut corners again. That black gold is worth the wait.

Yeah that "black gold" thing is so true. I just turn my pile more often now, seems to speed it up a bit.

Try turning your caffeine addiction into a garden feature, @nancythomas. My compost is half coffee grounds now, which is a convenient excuse for my habit. Does it actually work or do I just like the smell?
