I finally acted on that viral straw meme and it was hilarious
A popular meme shows sea turtles celebrating when people use metal straws. I decided to hop on the bandwagon and got one yesterday. While trying to use it, I knocked over my iced coffee and created a sticky mess. It's funny how a simple meme can lead to such a clumsy moment.

Haha that meme got me too! I bought a pack of those metal straws last month and my first try was a disaster. The thing slipped right out of my glass and rolled under the fridge, and I spent ten minutes fishing it out with a broom. They look cool but they are surprisingly hard to use without practice. My cat now thinks the clattering sound is her personal alarm for playtime.

@elliot_jenkins7, when you said it rolled under the fridge, I felt that. My metal straw shot across the kitchen and hid behind the dishwasher. Took me ages to get it out, and now I'm scared to use them near my good cups. My dog freaks out at the clang too, so I get the cat playtime alarm thing. They're slick little things, honestly.

When you mention being scared to use metal straws near your good cups, I have to ask, is that fear really necessary? They're just straws, and yeah they roll, but so do plenty of other things in the kitchen. Why let a little clang and slide turn into such a big worry? It seems like making a simple drink way more complicated than it needs to be.
