Vent: My morning coffee realization about meditation hype

Sipping my coffee today, I kept hearing how meditation is the answer for stress. I disagree because it never worked for me. When I try to meditate, I end up focusing on my worries instead of calming down. Like last week, I felt worse after a guided session. Some people find peace in it, but for me, a quick chat with a friend does more. We should stop saying one method fits all for mental health. I'll keep my coffee and real talks as my morning fix.

Meditation gets pushed like it's a cure-all, but it just doesn't click for some people. Trying to clear your mind can sometimes make the noise louder. I've had sessions where I ended up more stressed than when I started. Your point about real talks is spot on, connection often works better than isolation. Pushing one method for everyone ignores how differently we're wired. Keep doing what actually helps you unwind.

After 5 minutes of silence, my anxiety SPIKES, @white.piper gets it.

Totally get that. Forcing meditation when it doesn't fit just adds pressure instead of helping.
