The matchstick Eiffel Tower that collapsed at minute 40 of hour 6
I was building it on my dining table in Portland, and I had 214 matchsticks glued into the base lattice. Around hour 6, my cat jumped up to sniff the glue pot and knocked the whole upper half sideways. I spent 20 minutes just staring at the wreck, then I carefully peeled off the unbroken pieces and started reworking the design into a shorter tower with a wider base. Has anyone else salvaged a failed model into something smaller, or do you just trash it and start fresh?
