Our apartment building went through this last year with window replacements. For weeks people grumbled about the early morning drilling and the plastic sheeting everywhere. But once those new thermal panes went in and everyone's heating bills dropped, the complaints turned into compliments at the mailboxes. It's funny how often that happens, like with a neighbor's leaf blower at 7 AM or the smell of fresh paint in the hall. The annoyance is right there in your face, but the value of the finished thing is quiet and takes time to notice.

Wait, the early morning drilling you mentioned, was it really at 7 AM? That's insane. I had a similar thing with road work last year and the noise at dawn was unbearable. But you're right, once the windows were in and bills dropped, it probably felt worth it. Still, I can't believe people didn't revolt over that schedule.
