They keep gear secure without slowing you down.

My chalk bag has been clipped on for three seasons and never caught on anything. If you put them in the right spot on your harness, they sit flat against your body. The whole snag thing only happens if you're rushing or your gear doesn't fit right. Honestly, a good clip-on system gets tools out faster than fumbling in a pocket.
