My Echo kept triggering from the filter noise, which was messing with voice recognition. I relocated it and dialed down the mic sensitivity, problem solved. Has anyone else battled random ambient sounds in their setup?

My friend's old refrigerator hum kept activating her smart lights. She realized the consistent low frequency noise was mimicking a command. A simple repositioning of the hub away from the kitchen finally stopped the ghost triggers.

Honestly, fish tank filters are notorious for false triggers.

The whir from my ceiling fan kept activating my Google Home. It interpreted the noise as a wake word followed by nonsense commands. I dug into the device settings and lowered the wake word sensitivity. That single change eliminated nearly all the false triggers. Identifying the consistent sound pattern was crucial for fixing it. Ambient noise control is now part of my smart home setup checklist.
