My first solar layout was all hand sketches on graph paper

I used to love spending evenings drawing out panel arrays and wiring routes with colored pencils. These days, it's all done on a tablet with apps that auto-calculate everything. I still have that old sketchbook, and flipping through it reminds me how much simpler the tools were back then.

My dad taught me solar basics on graph paper back in 2010. We used a red pencil for positive lines and black for negative. I miss the feel of paper under my hand compared to swiping on glass now. Holding onto those sketches really connects you to the start of it all.

Absolutely @dakota_barnes12, nothing replaces the real feel of paper and those memories with your dad.

Come on @dakota_barnes12, it's just some old paper. Modern apps get the same job done way faster and cleaner. Getting sentimental over pencil lines seems like a stretch.
