Drove past the old courthouse renovation and they're using prefab terrazzo tiles.
Nothing beats a proper poured-in-place finish.

The original terrazzo in that courthouse's main staircase was a masterpiece of poured-in-place work. Those prefab tiles will never have the same depth or character. Why sacrifice craftsmanship for convenience? I remember how the marble chips in the old floor seemed to tell a story with every step. Now it'll just be a grid of identical squares. What a loss for the building's history.

Why replace art with assembly lines, @sarahl68?

That poured-in-place work was actually a restoration, wrenbrown.
