Question about why a messy space works better for me
I was cleaning my home office yesterday, and I saw I always leave it messy. My pals say it looks bad, but I finish more tasks there. For example, when I tidied up all nice last month, I lost time hunting for things. Now with my piles, I grab what I need fast. I dont get why clean rooms are such a big deal. Maybe a bit of mess lets some folks think better. Whats your take on messy spots being okay?

Believe it or not, a clean office actually saves more time in the long run. When everything has a place, you don't waste mental energy remembering where you left things. Messy piles might seem fast now, but they often hide important stuff until it's too late. I've seen friends miss deadlines because they couldn't find papers in their clutter. Plus, a tidy space just feels better, like you can breathe and think clearly. Giving in to mess is a short cut that leads to more problems later.

Used to swear by messy desks too until @fionag52 made a good point about hidden deadlines. Now I see how my old piles actually slowed me down by hiding urgent things. I keep it sorted now and it works better.

You mean piles can hide real deadlines? I always assumed my mess was just part of my system. Last week, I lost an important form in a stack of papers and almost missed a deadline. Now I'm wondering if I need to clean up my act.
