Reflecting on the year my rooftop tomatoes all withered in a heatwave
Back when I started urban gardening, I underestimated how intense summer sun could be on a rooftop. All my tomato plants scorched, teaching me to always provide afternoon shade. It's funny how such a simple lesson took a season of loss to learn.

What did you end up using for shade? I mean, that heat sounds brutal up there.

For that brutal heat, a sun shade STRUCTURE is CRUCIAL.

Spotlights our collective struggle with urban heat islands. Basic self-sufficiency gets harder every summer.
