That $400 water filter I bought in 2019 is still going, but the filters now cost more than the unit did
Bought a countertop reverse osmosis system back in 2019 for like 400 bucks. Thought I was crazy at the time. It saved me though because my town had a boil notice every few months. Now the replacement filters run about 120 a set and last maybe 6 months. Just checked the price of a new unit. Same model is 150. Feels like I'm stuck in a weird loop where replacing stuff is smarter than keeping it going. Anyone else hit that wall where maintenance outpaces the original buy?
