Question about the rise of 'extreme environment' yoga flows in my city

So last weekend, I decided to try this new 'rooftop yoga at dawn' flow that's been popping up EVERYWHERE downtown, and let me tell you, it was an adventure. We were all set up on this sleek but slightly slippery rooftop, aiming for serene sun salutations, when a sudden gust of wind sent my mat sliding toward the edge. I managed to grab it, but my warrior three turned into a frantic flail that had the whole class cracking up. The instructor kept shouting cues over the wind, and half of us were more focused on not losing our towels than on our alignment. It struck me how these trendy, adventurous flows are becoming the norm here, replacing the quiet studio sessions I used to love. Honestly, balancing in tree pose while battling elements feels less like mindfulness and more like a survival challenge. Still, I can't deny it was MEMORABLY absurd, and my core was sore from laughing and bracing against the breeze. Makes you wonder if we're chasing tranquility or just Instagram content these days.

Downtown's yoga trend, per @grantp28, turns purchased discomfort into a substitute for authentic tranquility.
