Compared Claude and ChatGPT for writing HTML email templates. Claude was way faster.

Spent 3 hours wrestling with ChatGPT to make a responsive email that worked in Outlook. Gave Claude the same prompt and it nailed it in 20 minutes with proper inline styles and everything. Anyone else find one model way better for specific coding tasks?

Just wanted to complain about ChatGPT" - yeah Alice, I totally spent 3 hours fighting with code for fun, that's my idea of a good time lol. But seriously, when you're on a deadline and the client expects it done yesterday, 3 hours is basically a whole work day wasted. Claude just gets it, I don't know how else to put it. The way it handles those Outlook conditional comments and MSO nonsense is night and day compared to ChatGPT. People who say "it's just an email template" have clearly never had to explain to a boss why their fancy email looks like garbage in Outlook 2016.

Is 3 hours really that big a deal for an email template though? Sounds like you just wanted to complain about ChatGPT.

3 hours is actually a huge deal when you're building like 50 of these templates a week. The difference is Claude just gets that Outlook needs those weird conditional comments and MSO tags built in from the start. ChatGPT kept fighting me on adding VML code for background images until I gave up and did it manually.
