Had to choose between two AI music generators for a project

I was working on a short film score and needed to pick between Suno and Udio for the final track. My budget was tight, only about $50 for the whole thing, and I had a week to decide. I went with Suno because it let me tweak the mood more, like 'cinematic tension' with a 70% setting. The first three tries were kinda generic, but on the fourth, it gave me a 90-second piece that actually fit the scene. Anyone have tips for getting more consistent results with these tools, or should I have stuck with Udio for something different?

Your 70% tension setting is the key detail. It reminds me of how we all now have these granular mood sliders for everything, from our coffee order to our thermostat. We're trying to engineer a specific feeling through a menu, whether it's "cinematic" or "extra cozy." My smart lights have a "focus" setting that's just a harsh blue white. It never actually makes me focus, it just makes my kitchen look like a lab. The promise is control, but the result is often just a different shade of generic.

Honestly, that tweaking phase is where the real work happens. My best track came after like ten boring generations, just slowly nudging the style tags each time. The trick is treating those first few outputs as rough drafts, not finished pieces.

Actually, that control is the whole point, it's how you finally get past generic!
