I finally got my old CNC router running after 3 months of headaches

Picked up a beat up ShopBot from a guy in Portland last fall. Spent 3 months fighting with the control board, kept getting random tool crashes. Turned out the ground wire was loose inside the main plug the whole time. 5 minutes with a screwdriver fixed it. Anyone else ever waste weeks on something this stupid?

What kind of random crashes were you getting with the loose ground? Did it ever mess up any parts or just ruin toolpaths?

Man I read this one post where a guy had a loose ground and it killed his spindle driver board. @carter.gavin if it ever messes up parts, check your grounding first before blaming the machine.
