Laughed at my buddy's AI resume tool until I used it and got 3 callbacks in a week

I told him his automated cover letter generator was just fancy spam, but after my own 20 failed applications I caved, and now I'm wondering if I should feed it my whole LinkedIn history - has anyone else had an AI writing tool actually land them a better job than they applied to?

Yeah, I fed it my whole resume and it started adding lines about 'synergizing cross-platform solutions' - had to dial it back hard.

Ha! That's hilarious and painfully true. I had the same problem, it turned my simple bullet points into some kind of corporate mission statement. I couldn't even recognize my own job history. Did you just tell it to stop or start over from scratch?

Actually my buddy used the same tool and it added a line about him being a "thought leader in agile methodologies" when he'd been a barista. Three callbacks in a week sounds good, but maybe some of those are gonna be awkward interviews when they realize the resume wrote itself. I'd probably hold off on feeding it your whole LinkedIn history until you know it's actually matching what you can back up in conversation.
