My AI model just hit 90% accuracy on a task I thought it'd fail at
I was training a small model to sort images of my own photos, and after 500 tries, it suddenly got 9 out of 10 right, which made me wonder if we're all underestimating how fast these tools are getting good at personal tasks.

I used to assume these models needed huge data sets to work. Seeing it learn from just your photos is pretty wild. Maybe they're getting useful faster than we realize.

Yeah the "learn from just your photos" thing is crazy... I saw a demo where someone trained a simple model to tell apart their own cat and dog with like twenty pictures of each. It wasn't perfect but it worked. Makes you wonder what else can be done with a tiny bit of data now. Feels like the goalposts for what needs a "huge data set" are moving fast.

Heard a podcast saying what @robinson.hannah mentioned is just the tip of the iceberg for small data learning.
