TIL I was feeding my AI chatbot walls of text and wondering why it kept forgetting things, then I tried one small fix
Honestly I used to think the best way to get good answers from an AI was to dump everything I knew into one giant message, like a 900 word brain dump with every detail, and then act surprised when it lost track of what I asked halfway through. This went on for a couple weeks back in March while I was trying to get help planning a big yard project, and every reply felt like it was answering a totally different question. What tipped me off was when I pasted the same paragraph twice in one message and the reply only addressed the second copy, like the first one never existed. Ngl that was the moment it clicked that I was the problem, not the tool. I started breaking things into short chunks and asking one thing at a time, and the answers got sharper right away. Tbh it felt dumb that a simple change in how I typed changed so much, but there it is. Has anyone else noticed their results shift a lot just from message length, or is it something else I'm missing?
