Watched my old job site photos from 2018 then compared to what drones capture now, crazy difference.

Back then I had to climb every roof twice to get measurements and now my nephew flies a drone over a house in 10 minutes and I get a full 3D model, has anyone else seen that shift make their crew way more efficient?

Oh man, tell me about it. I used to spend half my day just setting up ladders and double checking roof pitches on foot. Now I have a guy who can fly a site, get the model, and we know exactly how many squares of material we need before we even load the truck. Saved us so much time on redoing measurements.

Saved us so much time on redoing measurements" - you ain't kidding. My buddy tried flying a site in heavy fog once and the model came out all wonky, ended up ordering like 4 extra bundles of shingles we didn't need.

@the_wren you're not wrong about the time savings but drones still miss some tricky valleys and flashing details. I've had a few crews show up with the wrong materials after trusting the model too much.
