Appreciation post: My neighbor in Austin swore by air frying bacon, but I'm still a cast iron guy
Last week, she brought over a plate of her air fryer bacon, saying it was less mess and the fat rendered perfectly. I mean, it was good, but idk, I still think the stovetop gives it that classic crisp. Anyone else have a strong preference on this?

It's funny how people get so loyal to their cooking tools. You see it with coffee makers and grills too, everyone thinks their method is the only right one.

Oh man, @daniel474, you are so right. I get into this with my sister about air fryers versus regular ovens every single holiday. She acts like her air fryer is some kind of magic box that can do no wrong. It's the same with people who use a French press for coffee, they look at my drip machine like it's a toy. Why do we get so attached to a spoon or a pan?
