Hot take: frozen chicken wings beat fresh in the air fryer every time

I tried fresh wings from the butcher last Friday and they came out dry after 25 minutes at 380. The frozen ones from the bag at Kroger? Just toss them in for 20 minutes at 400, no thawing, and they're way crispier. Am I the only one who thinks frozen works better here?

My go to frozen wings are the Kirkland brand from Costco. 20 minutes at 400 same as you, then I hit them with Franks red hot and a little baking powder mixed in before the last 5 minutes. Comes out way crunchier than any fresh wing I tried. Fresh ones always need extra oil or they dry out.

4 pounds of frozen wings in my freezer right now from that same Kirkland bag. @the_derek nailed it with the baking powder trick. I do the same but I also pat them dry with paper towels after they come out of the oven to soak up any extra grease before tossing in sauce. The baking powder dries out the skin so good it almost crunches like a fried wing. And Frank's is the only way to go.
