My air fryer thought it was a smoke machine for 20 minutes

I used to just toss chicken thighs in with zero thought, now I check the basket every 5 minutes because last Tuesday I forgot to pat them dry and the fan blew flour dust everywhere like a bad club scene. Anyone else end up with a kitchen that smells like burnt powder after trying to coat stuff without oil?

That "fan blew flour dust everywhere like a bad club scene" line hits too close to home. Last time I breaded pork chops and threw them in, my whole counter looked like a crime scene dusted for fingerprints. I've learned the hard way that any loose coating, even paprika, will turn into a dusty fog the second that fan kicks on. Now I give whatever I'm cooking a solid rest on a rack for a few minutes before it goes in, and I still crack the window just in case.
