My sister swore frozen fries need 400 degrees for 20 minutes, and I ended up with a tray of charcoal
My sister has been air frying for two years and she told me frozen fries always need 400 degrees for 20 minutes, no shaking needed. I followed that exactly with a bag of crinkle cuts last Tuesday and got black sticks stuck to the basket. Took me 15 minutes with a sponge to get the mess off. Turns out the fix was 380 degrees for 12 minutes with a shake at the halfway mark, which a guy in a Facebook group mentioned. Now I write down times on a sticky note on the fridge. Does anyone else keep a little log for their air fryer, or do you just eyeball everything?
The sticky note thing made me laugh because I do the exact same thing but mine lives on the side of the fridge with like nine layers of tape on it. My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts but she's the one who ate raw chicken nuggets last month because she guessed 8 minutes at 390. I've got notes for everything now, 360 for 14 on tots, 400 for 10 on mozz sticks with a shake at 5, and one that just says DO NOT TRUST THE FROZEN PIZZA ROLL BOX. The weird part is my handwriting keeps getting worse so half the notes are unreadable and I end up guessing anyway. Kinda defeats the whole point but at least the fries turned out fine.
