My sister swore I was overcooking chicken thighs in the air fryer
She kept telling me 400 degrees for 18 minutes was too much. I ignored her for like 6 months. Last week I tried her way at 375 for 14 minutes and they came out actually juicy instead of dry. Guess I owe her an apology. Anyone else have a family member who gave air fryer advice you brushed off at first?

I used to think 400 for 18 was the magic number too. Tried 375 for 14 after reading this and yeah, they're way more juicy. My wife had been telling me the same thing for a year and I just laughed at her. Now I feel like a jerk.

I'd try 350 for 12 next time if you really want juicy. We switched to that a few months back and never looked back. Trust me on this one.

Measure your chicken thigh thickness before diving into times. I've got a 1-inch thick thigh that comes out PERFECT at 375 for 15 minutes, flip halfway through. Thicker ones need closer to 17 minutes but never go past 400, that's just asking for dry meat. Also give them a quick pat dry with paper towels before seasoning, helps the skin crisp up without overcooking the inside.
