Serious question, did anyone else mess up frozen fries in the air fryer for months?
I kept cooking a whole bag of frozen fries at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, and they'd come out soggy in the middle every single time. Last Tuesday, my friend Sam watched me do it and said, 'You're crowding the basket, man.' I tried a single layer on the next batch and they were perfect. How much do you shake or move your food while it cooks to get it right?

Ever think about the type of fries you're using? Some brands have a thicker coating or more moisture, so they need a quick shake halfway through to keep them from sticking and to let the steam out. I found that tossing them once, around the 8 minute mark, makes a huge difference for crispiness.

Wait, you shake them at 8 minutes? I always do it at 10. Maybe that's why mine still get a little soft sometimes lol. I gotta try your timing, because @jake_torres68 is right about spreading them thin, but some of these crinkle cuts just clump up anyway.

Actually, I usually skip the shake. Just spread them out thin on the tray before they go in and they get crispy every time.
