That time at my friend's BBQ made me rethink air fryer veggies
I was at a cookout at my buddy Mike's place in Oak Park last Saturday and he threw some broccoli in his air fryer with just salt and pepper. It came out crispy and perfect in like 8 minutes without heating up his whole kitchen. I always used to roast veggies in the oven at 400 degrees for 25 minutes, but now I just do them at 375 in the air fryer for 10 minutes and they're way better. Has anyone else found a veggie that didn't work well in the air fryer? I'm worried about doing asparagus.

Watched my neighbor try asparagus in hers and it came out all dry and stringy...

Huh, that's interesting because I've never had that problem with asparagus in a pressure cooker. Did they put it in whole or cut into smaller pieces? I usually snap off the woody ends and throw them in for like a minute on high, quick release. Timing is super finicky with veggies in those things, one minute too long and they're mush or dried out. Was she using the steam rack or just floating it in the liquid? That can make a big difference.

Isn't it funny how the simplest things (like cutting veggies) can totally change the outcome?
