Called out to a school job in Tacoma last month and found a mess of wires behind the panel
The previous installer had left about 8 feet of extra wire coiled up behind every sensor. It looked like a rat's nest. My tester kept picking up false signals because of all the interference. I spent 2 hours cleaning it up and now I trim every wire to the exact length I need. Has anyone else seen bad wiring jobs that caused signal issues?

Man, that's a total nightmare to clean up.

Oh boy, reminds me of finding a whole spool of speaker wire stuffed in a wall once.

Long coils don't cause false signals unless something else is wrong with the install.
