Hot take: I think those new wireless sensors are more trouble than they're worth.
Had a job last Tuesday where a whole set of them just stopped reporting to the panel. The homeowner called, freaking out, because the app showed everything offline. I spent over an hour on site checking batteries and signal strength, which were all fine. Turns out the panel's firmware needed an update that wasn't pushed automatically. Has anyone else run into these weird firmware glitches that make a simple install a nightmare?

Ugh, tell me about it! I was totally on board with the wireless hype at first, thinking it would make everything so much easier. Then I had a nearly identical thing happen with a firmware update that just didn't show up in the system. It turned a quick service call into a half-day headache trying to figure out why a brand new sensor was "dead." Now I'm way more careful about checking for updates before I even leave the shop.

Right? Why is it always the brand new stuff that acts up? Susan130 has a point about new tech, but man, the "better" part feels like a lie when you're stuck on site. My old wired temp sensor from like 2010 just works. This new wireless one needed a special app, a cloud account, and then a secret manual reboot to see the update. It's not progress, it's just extra steps that break.
