I mapped every zone on paper before touching a panel, cut my attic time in half
I used to run wire first and figure out zone assignments later, which meant crawling back up in the August heat of a Dallas attic to chase down a mislabeled door contact. Now I sketch the full zone map on graph paper at the kitchen table first, labeled by room and loop number, and my last 3 panel swaps each finished in under 4 hours. Anyone else draw it out first, or do you just label as you pull?
