Motion sensor placement I wrote off as overkill actually saved my bacon

I used to think putting motion sensors in every single corner of a warehouse was a waste of wire and time. A client in Austin insisted on covering every nook, even spots I figured no one could reach. Two months later, a guy tried hiding in the HVAC crawlspace to case the place after hours. That sensor I almost skipped caught him at 2:14 AM. Now I don't question the extra units during installs. Has anyone else had a spot they thought was useless that ended up catching something?

Wait the freezer door thing got me. That's actually insane. Like someone had to bring a whole cold item in there, stash it, then come back for it later. Did they think the cold would mess up the sensor or something? I've put sensors behind heavy machinery before and always figured it was pointless. Guess I'll stop questioning it now.

Figured out the hard way that thieves are creatures of habit too. They'll find the one cold spot in the building and think they're geniuses. Probably stood there with their stolen steak shivering for five minutes before sliding it in. Your mileage may vary, but I've seen weirder stuff happen at warehouses. People get real creative when they think no one's watching.

Buddy of mine laughed at installing one behind a freezer door until that's where someone stashed stolen goods.
