Newer panels hide the battery drain stat, discovered by accident
I was doing a routine final test on a Vista 20P install last Tuesday and noticed the keypad showed 6.2V on the battery while the panel said it was charging fine. Turns out the newer firmware in these panels doesn't surface the voltage drop during a full load test unless you press and hold the * key for 7 seconds. Is that how the rest of you are catching weak batteries before they fail, or do you still use a multimeter on every service call?
