Old timer at the supply house changed how I wire alarm panels

Guy named Frank at Denver Security Supply last Tuesday watched me grab a 16 zone panel. He said "slow down kid, you're making more work for yourself." Showed me his trick for dressing wires in 5 minutes flat. Anyone else get game changing advice from a random stranger?

Used to think I had all the time in the world until Frank showed me how much faster things go with a little patience upfront. I've been a lot less sloppy ever since.

Ask him what he showed you exactly? Im curious if it was something with the way he laid out the wires before screwing them down or if he had some trick for keeping them organized while you work. @carter.laura that story about the lady and the strippers funny but also kind of annoying how we all just use our teeth or whatever is handy until some random person sets us straight. I bet Frank probably showed you a specific order to land the wires or something with how he bundles them so they dont get tangled. Thats the kind of thing that saves way more than 5 minutes once you get used to it.

Happened to me just last month. Some older lady at the hardware store watched me grab a roll of thermostat wire and told me to stop using my teeth to strip it, handed me a $5 stripper off the rack. Changed my whole day honestly.
